![]() There is a page on the new launch at lifehacker: If anyone's enthusiastic enough to post a comment, what do you think about this new feature? google can transcribe your messages already, are you at all concerned that google will now be able to scan your conversations for nefarious purposes in future? it already has the capability to record every interaction you have with any of the google services, so why not take it a step further? it all seems ok now and i had no trouble creating a google phone number for myself (which will ring all your real-world phones, if you want it to). probably a result of running old software or the wrong software or both, on my old laptop. i had some hassle with adobe air suddenly popping up and crashing all over the place, but that seems to have sorted itself out now. if you aren't in america, though, you don't get this new feature, presumably because google has no agreement to use phone numbers in any other country. calls to the usa and canada are free, and international calls start at 2 cents a minute. Question: Google has just added google voice to gmail, adding voice over ip to the video/audio chat option and allowing you to call any phone number directly from your gmail account page. As for giving gmail a capital g, they don't deserve one. They're griping as well & demanding a better email service. There are quite a few government agencies currently trying to make gmail work in Colorado, but that is about to change. If others are using gmail for resumes, etc., anything OTHER than actually emailing, maybe that's why they're "so happy with it". I type 140wpm & gmail is a total waste of time when I have to keep re-composing & constantly have to correct gmail's technical problems. It does NOT go, it skips all over the document. When I'm composing & want to go back to a paragraph & edit something, I click where I want to go. I can only imagine it is their own employees putting them up. I see that gmail unbelievably has a high rating on here. I have to put the standard disclaimer on every email: "Gmail is a dinosaur, forgive the unprofessional appearance!"įorget about the so-called "draft" feature. I send these to the media, both locally & around the world, government leaders & politicians, including the President's Advisor, FEMA, FBI, DHS, OIG, USFA, etc. I send large amounts of emails along the lines of tips/stories, problems & issues as well as networking types. They have been reported to the DOD for that problem along with a screen shot. ![]() When I try to reply to one of their emails, Gmail refuses to let me reply. I correspond with many government agencies. I ONLY use gmail due to not being able to find another kind that does not require a mobile phone & has free large storage (so far).
